I don't have any technical knowledge, can I still enroll in this course?
Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!
When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?
You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.
I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?
The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

I want to buy a new but affordable phone to DeGoogle it, which one should I get?
We at Android-Privacy.com we like the Xiaomi Redmi note 8/9, because of it’s great specs for a really low price. This low price mostly comes from all the bloatware that comes pre-installed on it, but we are going to get rid of that anyway 😉
I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?
No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).
How long is section 3?
Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.
How much time do I save?

Perfekte begeleiding
De online handleiding is bijzonder duidelijk, na jarenlang gebruik van m’n iPhone verliep alles gladjes, maar de data-roof begon mij tegen te staan. Op naar een nieuw systeem en anders dan iOS, je moet er wat tijd insteken! Ik liep vast bij het importeren van m’n contacten en na een paar mailtjes met Ernad nodigde hij me uit om naar het kantoor in Utrecht te komen.Een bak koffie van Wesley en 2,5 uur verder installeren met Ernad liet alle beren op de weg die ik verwachtte volledig verdwijnen en ik ging weer fluitend naar buiten met een Pixel die alles deed wat ik gewend was van m’n iPhone.Hulde! Deze mannen staan volledig achter hun product en laten je niet weggaan voor alles perfect werkt met de nodige uitleg erbij.

Omdat security en privacy voor mij ontzettend belangrijk zijn is dit met alle tools en ondersteunig de club waar je bij wilt aangesloten zijn.

Geweldig wat jullie allemaal doen. Ik heb helaas te weinig tijd om de vele vele apps en opties te fine tunen. Daarom gebruik ik nog steeds ern tweede gsm naast de pixel omdat ik nog te vaak foutmeldingen krijg op fe pixel.
Zonder GSM functioneren wordt moeilijk gemaakt.
In alles duwt de maatschappij je naar de digitale app-wereld. Geopteerd voor een zo “private” omgeving mogelijk en een Proprivacy phone aangeschaft. Zeer tevreden over het pro privacy platform en alle uitleg die het verschaft, want ik kan het gebruiken. Eenmaal heb ik iets niet teruggevonden dat met een belletje zo was opgelost. Het kost wat meer tijd om de phone onder de knie te krijgen, maar mijn privacy maximaal beschermen, is me dit waard.
Bijzondere initiatieven
Ik was een van de eersten die een privacy telefoon gekocht heeft als leek eerste klas. Het was een hele puzzeltocht van IPhone naar deze telefoon. Over de ondersteuning ben ik meer dan dik tevreden. Maar de handleidingen zijn echt super. Mijn levenspartner heeft inmiddels ook zo’n telefoon en ook de contante updates en toelichtingen en uitleg zijn echt zeer indrukwekkend.
