The first part of the course is focusing on the violation of our privacy and the definition of privacy itself. Why would you even want or need it? Is it even possible to maintain your privacy in today’s day and age? Later on the course we will focus on solutions, without the need to go and buy a new phone. I don't have any technical knowledge, can I still enroll in this course?
Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!
When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?
You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.
I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?
The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?
No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).
How long is section 3?
Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.
How much time do I save?

Enrad heeft mij 18-5-2026 geweldig geholpen met de “laatste puntjes op de i” bij de overgang naar mijn nieuwe telefoon. Heel geduldig en vakkundig, mijn complimenten. Ook de persoonlijke kennismaking met Wesley was fijn. Ga zo door mannen!
Betrouwbaar en integer en goede service
Goede ervaring met ProPrivacy. Ze denken mee, adviseren. Ik vind het een erg mooi concept en ben blij dat zij hun expertise inzetten voor hun medemens. De handleidingen zijn duidelijk en uitgebreid. Het voelt heel fijn om vrij te zijn van BigTech en je kunt zelf besluiten hoeveel energie je wilt steken in het beschermen van je privacy. Je moet er in het begin wat tijd aan besteden, maar op zich is het goed te doen als je een basis hebt. Ik luister elke 2 weken naar de Podcasts om bij te blijven en ook te kunnen anticiperen op wat er aankomt.
Privacy phone
Ik heb inmiddels mijn tweede privacy telefoon. Ik gebruik de telefoon met volle tevredenheid. Het geeft me een goed gevoel dat niet al mijn data op straat ligt. Ik moet er niet aan denken om opnieuw met een door big tech gemonitorde telefoon te lopen.
Ook heb ik inmiddels niets meer in de (public)cloud staan, ik gebruik de private cloud(NAS) Inmiddels ook mijn pc vervangen voor een privacy vriendelijke variant. Weg van de big tech/ public cloud /overheid.
Het mooie van proprivacy is het platform waar je met al je vragen terecht kan.
Het is een levend platform want de controledrift van de staat zal voor een continue kat en muis spel zorgen.
Blij met deze telefoon
Het is wel even wennen en het vraagt studie, maar het is de moeite waard. Ik ben nog steeds in onderzoek, maar blij met de mogelijkheden. De ondersteuning is fijn, vragen worden snel via de mail beantwoord. Het Privacy Platform geeft op heel veel vragen antwoord en meestal werken de stap-voor-stap handleidingen goed. Soms ziet iets er net iets anders uit en dan raak ik in de war. Wat me ook nog niet altijd duidelijk is, is hoe je de verschillende apps op de verschillende plaatsen neerzet. Maar alle nieuwe dingen vragen tijd om te integreren en ik weet vrij zeker dat als ik de vraag zou stellen via de mail, hier een goed antwoord op zou komen. Ik vind het steeds belangrijker om bewuster met mijn privacy om te gaan en hierbij word ik goed geholpen door ProPrivacy. Dank jullie wel voor het constante onderzoek en het volgen van de ontwikkelingen.
