The first part of the course is focusing on the violation of our privacy and the definition of privacy itself. Why would you even want or need it? I don't have any technical knowledge, can I still enroll in this course?
Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!
When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?
You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.
I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?
The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

We at Android-Privacy.com we like the Xiaomi Redmi note 8/9, because of it’s great specs for a really low price. This low price mostly comes from all the bloatware that comes pre-installed on it, but we are going to get rid of that anyway 😉
I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?
No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).
How long is section 3?
Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.
How much time do I save?

Zodra je er achter komt wat geld daadwerkelijk echt is, dan is de keuze om crypto te bemachtigen essentieel! Deze cursus helpt daar enorm bij, dus het is zeker een aanrader.
Afgeschermd de toekomst in
Na alle uitzendingen van de Pro Privacy Podcast geluisterd te hebben ben ik overstag gegaan en heb een Pro Privacy Phone gekocht. Het vlaggenschip van dit moment, de Pixel 9 Pro. Voor de echte Apple-fanaat is GrapheneOS misschien iets minder gelikt, maar op dit moment vind ik privacy belangrijker. Het online Pro Privacy Platform met handleidingen is duidelijk opgesteld en stap voor stap word je naar de juiste instellingen gedirigeerd, al lukt het de gevorderde telefoonkenner met een beetje logisch nadenken voor het grootste deel ook zelf. De service is prima, na een vraag komt er dezelfde dag en soms al binnen 2 uur een reactie terug. Enige minpuntje lijkt de accuduur van de Pixel 9 Pro; ik heb hem nog maar kort, dus het is nog even afwachten wat de accuduur in verschillende situaties is. Ook sommige tekst in het instellingenmenu van GrapheneOS is nog niet vertaald in het Nederlands. De levertijd was ongeveer 2 weken; na de bestelling wordt de telefoon in orde gemaakt en je wordt op de hoogte gehouden van wanneer je hem kunt verwachten.
Was even wennen
Van Apple naar graphene os. Het instellen heeft wel het nodige tijd gehad. Maar nu het loopt prima. En ik kreeg snel antwoord van Pro Privacy voor de nodige hulp.

De financiele en digitale wereld heeft van nature niet bepaald mijn interesse.;-) Het was dan ook een behoorlijke stap buiten mijn comfortzone om deze cursus te gaan doen…maar wat ben ik blij dat ik deze investering heb gedaan.
Het was met momenten even doorbijten maar het is me gelukt, mede dankzij de geweldige hulp van Wesley en Ernad. Ik vind dit twee absolute toppers in kennis, aanbod en service!

Herinstallatie na een mislukte software upgrade
Door eigen falen (lege accu) werd eind februari een software-upgrade op mijn Fedora-laptop ongewild onderbroken en kon ik daarna met geen mogelijkheid meer inloggen. Gelukkig was ik in het bezit van een recente databack-up. Na overleg met Wesley mocht ik snel een afspraak maken voor een consult. Ernad installeerde de software opnieuw en richtte het systeem volledig opnieuw in. Ik wil de lezer de details besparen, maar de ´é’ in mijn gebruikersnaam gooide aan het eind toch nog roet in het eten. De installatie en het optuigen van het systeem moesten overnieuw gebeuren. Voor menigeen een tenenkrommende ervaring, maar bij Ernad geen onvertogen woord. Het zette zich nog een keer schrap en uiteindelijk kon ik met een werkend systeem en een dankbaar gevoel huiswaarts keren. Puike service!!
