Welcome to the Android privacy course! In this course we will teach you everything about creating the best possible privacy setup on your Android device. Not only do we endorse privacy, but this course is build around a couple of key values: privacy, open-source software, freedom of speech, and if possible: decentralization.

The first part of the course is focusing on the violation of our privacy and the definition of privacy itself. Why would you even want or need it? I don't have any technical knowledge, can I still enroll in this course?

Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!

When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?

You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.

I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?

The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

Can I get a refund?

I want to buy a new but affordable phone to DeGoogle it, which one should I get?

We at Android-Privacy.com we like the Xiaomi Redmi note 8/9, because of it’s great specs for a really low price. This low price mostly comes from all the bloatware that comes pre-installed on it, but we are going to get rid of that anyway 😉

I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?

No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).

How long is section 3?

Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.

How much time do I save?

Super ontvangst, hulp en ondersteuning bij laptop

Een jaar geleden een laptop aangeschaft bij proprivacy. Die was naar wens behalve dat de letters en cijfers op het toetsenbord vervaagden en er af gingen.

Ik kreeg direct van Wesley een nieuwe laptop aangeboden, heb die vandaag opgehaald en kreeg nog wat extra uitleg en hulp van Ernad. Een hartelijke ontvangst en duidelijke uitleg.

Er ging weer een blije klant naar huis en het was de lange rit meer dan waard!!!

Ik ben erg blij met deze telefoon en vind het fantastisch dat er mensen zijn die dit initiëren en faciliteren! Het duurde een tijdje voor ik de stap kon maken, ik zag er tegen op om alles over te moeten zijn, de tijd die daarbij gepaard zou gaan én ik was aardig gehecht aan mijn apple Iphone en de gebruiksvriendelijkheid daarvan.

Echter de overstap bleek gemakkelijker dan ik dacht en ik vond het ook leuk om te doen. Niet op zijn minsts door de fantastisch gedetailleerde, goed gestructureerde stap voor stap handleidingen die op de site staan. Er zijn best veel leuke alternatieve apps die op alternatieve shops staan en ook privacy vriendelijk zijn. Social meda gebruikte ik al niet op mijn telefoon, dat maakt het leven een stuk rustiger! En voor die enkeling die mij toch nog op whatsapp wil bereiken heb ik de app (voorlopig nog even) in een aparte gebruikersomgeving staan. Hun handleidingen zijn dus niet alleen heel handig voor de overstap, ze zijn ook super inspirerend voor nieuwe privacy vriendelijke stappen. Het helpt wel mee, zeker wanner je graag clouds gebruikt, om ook bijvoorbeeld over te stappen van google naar proton. Er gaat echt een nieuwe wereld voor je open nadat je de telefoon gekocht hebt!

Aangezien ik niet echt vaardig ben met een laptop en/of telefoon is het voor mij een pre om hier goede uitleg en documentatie bij te krijgen. Het consult en de documentatie laat bij pro-privacy niets te wensen over, zeer duidelijke uitleg door kundige mensen. Het achteraf vragen stellen via een ticket formulier is ook erg handig bij nazorg.

Even buiten het feit dat het prettig aanvoelt alweer…de professionaliteit van deze mensen is ongekend… Ok t kost uiteraard wat maar in mijn beleving krijg je wel héél veel waar voor je geld. Ik heb Ernad al eerder de hemel ingeprezen en dat doe ik nu weer. Mijn probleem heeft wat tijd gekost maar Ernad gaat door tot t gaatje en is daarin meer dan billijk geweest… Kort samen gevat…voor mij zijn dít de mensen waarop ik 100% vertrouw…enorm blij huiswaarts

Voordat ik mijn nieuwe telefoon in gebruik durfde te nemen, duurde enige tijd. Angst voor het nieuwe product.

Gelukkig kreeg ik hulp van een vriend en nu raak ik er vertrouwd mee.

Het zal nog even duren voordat ik alle voordelen ervan ga ervaren.
