Welcome to the Android privacy course! In this course we will teach you everything about creating the best possible privacy setup on your Android device. Not only do we endorse privacy, but this course is build around a couple of key values: privacy, open-source software, freedom of speech, and if possible: decentralization.

The first part of the course is focusing on the violation of our privacy and the definition of privacy itself. Why would you even want or need it? When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?

You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.

I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?

The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

We at Android-Privacy.com we like the Xiaomi Redmi note 8/9, because of it’s great specs for a really low price. This low price mostly comes from all the bloatware that comes pre-installed on it, but we are going to get rid of that anyway 😉

I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?

No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).

How long is section 3?

Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.

How much time do I save?

Top service en behulpzaamheid

Eerder al prima consult gehad inzake de telefoon van Ernad en kan er nu redelijk goed mee overweg. Overstap van ios naar android ging ook stuk beter. Afgelopen woensdag opnieuw een prima consult, nu inzake de Thinkpad, van Wesley gehad, in verband met onvoorziene afwezigheid van Ernad.

Beide gasten zijn uiterst geduldig en behulpzaam en ik weet nu veel meer over de werking van het Linux systeem.

Ik heb een consult gehad, aangezien ik op IT gebied nog een behoorlijke rookie ben.

Tijdens dit consult, zijn er veel privacy vriendelijke apps voor mij gedownload en is mij al behoorlijk wat uitgelegd. Gelukkig maar, want ik kwam helaas toch echt niet uit de start handleidingen.

Wesley en Ernad hebben mij ook zeer zeker kundig en met alle geduld geholpen. Het is nu aan mij om nog de nodige documentatie door te nemen. Mocht ik daar wederom niet uitkomen, dan weet ik de heren wel te vinden 🙂

Lieve mensen, kom zeker een kijkje nemen op deze site om misschien iets aan te schaffen en ga in contact met deze wellevende mensen die een leek als ik op mobiel en laptopgebied geweldig geholpen hebben en daar dan ook echt het geduld en de tijd voor nemen. Of ik nu bel of mail…. ik krijg altijd in korte tijd reactie. Is mijn vraag lastig dan wordt er gelegenheid geboden tot telefonisch contact. Ook een bezoek op de leuke werklocatie van proprivacy gaf 3 uur ruimte ál mijn problemen door te spreken. Flabbergasted hoeveel kennis deze jongens paraat hebben.

En aangezien ik een redelijk digibeet ben….ook complimenten voor het eindeloos geduld!
