Welcome to the Android privacy course! In this course we will teach you everything about creating the best possible privacy setup on your Android device. Not only do we endorse privacy, but this course is build around a couple of key values: privacy, open-source software, freedom of speech, and if possible: decentralization.

The first part of the course is focusing on the violation of our privacy and the definition of privacy itself. Why would you even want or need it? Is it even possible to maintain your privacy in today’s day and age? Later on the course we will focus on solutions, without the need to go and buy a new phone. Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!

I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?

The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?

No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).

How long is section 3?

Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.

How much time do I save?

Sinds april 2024 overgestapt van iOS (iPhone) naar GrapheneOS (Pixel). Het is ‘even’ wennen en het uitzoeken hoe het besturingsstysteem en sommige applicaties werken neemt wat tijd en moeite in beslag, maar daarna heb je ook een prima werkende privacy telefoon.

Het Pro Privacy Platform biedt ruim voldoende informatie om alles goed in te richten en (mogelijke) problemen op te lossen.

Ik heb de telefoon nu ruim een half jaar in bezit en ben zeer tevreden.

Heel fijn hoe Ernad me uitleg heeft gegeven met het omzetten naar een systeem zoals elke telefoon hoort te werken. In alle rust en met veel kennis er de tijd voor genomen. Fijn zo’n service. Nu vooral zelf ontdekken hoe nu verder, met als geruststelling de back-up van de mannen.

Fantastische hulp bij problemen met Aurora

Aurora deed het niet goed meer. Ik heb geprobeerd om via de FAQ achter een oplossing te komen maar dat is me niet gelukt. Vervolgens heb ik per mail mijn probleem uitgelegd en ik kreeg tot mijn stomme verbazing in no time antwoord van Ernad. Een paar keer heel snel heen en weer gemaild en toen stelde Ernad voor om te bellen. Helemaal top. Hij nam alle tijd om alles te bestuderen en uit te leggen en daarna waren alle problemen opgelost!

Wat een ongekende service! Helemaal geweldig.

Werd deze week in een persoonlijk consult uitgebreid door Ernad bijgepraat over de werking van mijn Pixel 6. Kreeg grote bewondering voor diens geduld en uitgebreide parate kennis over de materie. Moet achteraf wel concluderen dat ik mezelf beter had moeten verdiepen in de uitvoerige handleidingen. Krijg de indruk dat Ernad ook daar ontzettend veel tijd en energie in steekt. Pluim!
