Welcome to the Android privacy course! In this course we will teach you everything about creating the best possible privacy setup on your Android device. Not only do we endorse privacy, but this course is build around a couple of key values: privacy, open-source software, freedom of speech, and if possible: decentralization.

The first part of the course is focusing on the violation of our privacy and the definition of privacy itself. Why would you even want or need it? I don't have any technical knowledge, can I still enroll in this course?

Yes, you can. We believe privacy is a basic human right that should be available to anyone. We made this course so that even our grandmothers could be following it!

When I DeGoogle my phone, will I still be able to use my favorite apps?

You will. In the course we will explain what the different implications will be for using different kind of apps. We will, for example, highly discourage you to use an app like Whatsapp or Facebook. But, if there’s really no other option (on another phone for example), we will still offer the option to use it in the most privately friendly way possible. And, on the other hand, we will still highly encourage you to get used to using alternatives.

I have an iPhone, can I still follow this course?

The first section of the course will be a general one, focusing on the privacy flaws we have on the internet in general. The rest of the course will be specifically for Android phone. The thing with iPhones is that the software is not as editable as much as Android, so there is a lot less you can do. What you can do, however, is purchase a cheap Android phone with great specs (like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro). You can then rebuild this phone and use this one for the maximum amount of privacy. You then have a choice to make.

I want to buy a new but affordable phone to DeGoogle it, which one should I get?

We at Android-Privacy.com we like the Xiaomi Redmi note 8/9, because of it’s great specs for a really low price. This low price mostly comes from all the bloatware that comes pre-installed on it, but we are going to get rid of that anyway 😉

I can just install a custom rom and then I'm done right?

No! This is a big mistake a lot of people make. Just installing a private rom will get rid of Google’s Android, but you’re still far away from the most privacy friendly setup (also see section 2 of the course).

How long is section 3?

Section 3 itself is 2 hours of video material. The rebuilding will probably take 3 hours for a more technical person and 4/5 hours for a less technical person.

How much time do I save?

Tevreden het nieuwe jaar in met nieuwe tablet en mobiel

Vorige week ging in zeer tevreden naar huis met mijn nieuwe128 GB Pixel tablet -en mobiel. Al lange tijd nagedacht over een andere invulling v de Apple mobiel en tablet. Na lang beraad was het zo ver.

Zeer te spreken over de twee profielen ; Werkt uitstekend.Geldt ook voor de vele open source apps. Zo vind ik de navigatie v OsMand fraaier dan de Google evenknie.

Last but not least werd ik blij van de deskundige adviezen. Ik ervaar het als een unicum dat er zo goed de tijd wordt genomen voor uitleg en toelichting. Alle apps werden meteen geinstalleerd.

Kortom een aanrader voor een ieder die in 2025 de daad bij het privacywoord wil voegen.

Goede hulp bij het overstappen naar mijn tweede Snowden telefoon en een Fedora laptop. Er was alle tijd op kantoor om vragen te stellen en alle hulp bij van alles overzetten. Tevens wilde ik een grotere laptop, dit was geen probleem.

Ook de helpdesk per mail is prettig, ik krijg altijd snel antwoord en er wordt met me meegedacht omdat ik in Zuid Amerika woon.

De twee platforms zijn duidelijk en worden goed up-to-date gehouden.

Dank heren voor jullie (persoonlijke)service bij aankoop van mijn ThinkPad L580 512GB onlangs bij jullie op kantoor.

Hoewel het misschien nuttig kan zijn even bij stil te staan dat niet iedereen even vlot met een PC kunnen omgaan zoals jullie experts en helaas niet altijd alles even snel in het koppie opnemen. Bij deze zeer graag mijn dankbaarheid toch wel voor de tijd die uitgetrokken werd ter persoonlijke uitleg van de aankoop opdat ik er zo vlot als mogelijk mee zou kunnen omgaan eens terug thuis.

Benieuwd toch wel hoeveel tijd ik alsnog zal nodig hebben om voldoende uit mijn comfortzone te geraken dewelke reeds vele jaren via gebruik van Windows in mijn PC-gebruik vastgeroest zit.
